Procurement & Inventory Specialist
Salary – $60,000 – $65,000 depending on experience.
Basic Position Function
Drives the management of procurement, material planning, material movement, purchasing and inventory control.
Position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and implement key elements of supply chain strategy and supply chain management related processes.
Lead collaboration with suppliers, third party service providers and customers.
Manage supplier relationships and performance.
Develop and direct purchasing strategies for inventory commodities used by the business such as paper, ink and plates, etc.
Drive the strategic sourcing strategy to improve procurement and inventory to deliver efficiencies within the related business processes.
Develop, implement and manage the MRP process involving material logistics and verification of receipts.
Manage all supply agreements and contracts, initiating cost savings programs related to inventory and non-inventory purchases.
Responsible for compliance and regulatory activities as need by the company such as the emissions log, licenses and permits.
Drive continuous improvement to planning and forecasting to reduce holding cost and improve inventory turnover.
Develop methods to ensure inventory accuracy and to optimize efficiency in material movement, planning and storage.
Report on material usage variances and the necessary adjustments required for the BOM and MRP.
Enter and monitor purchase orders.
Track and enter material receipts.
Conduct physical inventories, perform cycle counts, and reconcile physical inventory to the general ledger.
Other duties as required.
Education & Experience – Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent prior experience in inventory management, planning and logistics, and supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
In depth knowledge of purchasing, procurement and supply chain processes and procedures. Knowledge of MRP/ERP system in a manufacturing environment. Must be proficient with computers and other common office technologies.
Ability to work in a team environment. APICS courses or certification related to Supply Chain Management desired. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
